Jenni Bowlin Studios June Kit

I just love the colors and everything in Jenni Bowlin's kit for June! I've made a couple of things, but have a ton more playing to do . . .

my sweet niece - i didn't even ask her to make funny faces - she just started doing this:

sanded my sun so the edges flared up a bit . . .

i'm really getting into using my older photos for layouts now - something about getting those memories down in print for my boys:

and a little banner on my crafting armoire . . . 'cause i need this right now!

for the banner, i added the stencils, flattened bead caps (can you see them), the old buttons, and the ric rac. that stuff was all flea market stuff . . . buttons from grandma . . .

Studio Hillary photo masks

Check out these great
Jumbo Watermasks from Studio Hillary on Scrapbookgraphics.com. They are give a watercolor look to your photo. I applied it to the large photo below and made this hybrid layout. Love the look:

Also used American Crafts patterned paper, embellies, brads, and vinyl Thickers. Butterfly punch is Martha Stewart and blue tag is Creative Cafe.

I also tried applying the photo mask to some type to make some easy cards:

I just resized the Watermasks in PSE to fit my cards which are sized to fit regular envelopes! The possibilities are endless! :)

Layout from a sketch

Pamela makes great sketches. She created a sketch for the Scrap and Stamp Saturday blog.

Here's her sketch:

and here's my layout:

Jenni Bowlin paper and die cut, Magistical Memories die cut, Prima chipboard letters, Creative Cafe cardstock sticker, and Prima stamps.

The challenge on the blog was to use the sketch, create a layout with a summer theme, and use two stamps. My stamps are Prima border stamps along the edge.

Those sequins sewed along the stamping are the coolest 'antique' sequins ever. I found them at a flea market in a test tube. They are the most beautiful blue and gold color and look like glass. Yes, they are quite different than the sequins you find today. Can someone really get excited about a little test tube of sequins? Yes, I can.

Here are my pretty babies. The picture doesn't do them justice! LOL!

Chances to Win - and a great flea market find

There are a couple of great monthly ongoing contests out there that I'd like to pass along.

Magistical Memories - has a monthly challenge on their site and the winner gets a gift certificate for free chipboard. Their chipboard is great - it's just the right thickness and even looks good naked!

Scrapbooks.com - has a monthly sketch challenge and the winner gets a gift certificate to their incredible store. I LOVE the Scrapbooks.com store. They have a great selection of stuff.

Both these sites have great women on the boards and are a lot of fun and full of inspiration. I've won both of these at one point or another and want to spread the good word! And these prizes are given out monthly- so there are lots of chances to win.

Snagged up these babies! Take a look at these awesome wooden spools I found at a local warehouse flea market:

I thought they'd be great for my ribbons - and look how pretty they look:

Sort of look nice right there on the mantel, don't they?
