WOYWW 277 | A New Kit

It's Wednesday and I have stuff on my desk to share!  Wooo hooo!  I love a new project on my desk!

Most of everything here is from the new October JBS Mercantile Kit, so yes, I guess this is a bit of a sneak peek at what's coming.

I've started a 12x12 page - it going to be totally fall-ish, with a favorite photo(s) of dear niece that I just took the other day.  It's so nice to have nieces that actually LOVE to pose for the camera.  When I say LOVE, I mean L-O-V-E.

You get a good view of the exclusive stencil in the kit which I'm not using on this page, but am dyin' to use on the next.  To the right is my tiny attacher - i've been using it a lot lately.  The rectangle of white above that is hard to see but they are white photo corners.  I've been loving photo corners lately.

If you want to know what WOYWW is all about, visit Julia's blog here.  She started this amazing weekly blog get-together!

Using My Pins : From Pinterest to Scrapbook Page

Oh what a bad pinner I've been!  I've resolved many moons ago to actually use my pins and then blog about it.  I'm sure I have been inspired by my pins subconsciously and haven't actually connected the "pin" with the "project", but it's been a long long time since I've made the connection.

I was inspired recently to use a pin as inspiration for a scrapbook page. And it was a conscious effort, and I made note of it!  Hurray for me!

I was scrapping a photo of my sweet niece on my son's back.  Her dress was so colorful, carefree, and beautiful that I felt the background of the layout would need to accent the dress colors and motif in order for the layout to work.

Doily shapes came to mind and I used a doily table runner as inspiration for the layout.  I used patterned paper from my JBS Mercantile August Papercrafting Kit.  It's sold out now, but to avoid missing out on any more gorgeous kits like this one, become a subscriber!  I adore my Mercantile kits.

You can read more about this layout, and how I cut the connected doilies on the SnapClickSupplyCo blog.

Hopefully this kick-started me into using more of my pins in my creative and everyday life!

Have a creative weekend!

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE

I do love February.  Both of my guys were born in February, less than a year apart, so there are a lot of fun memories.

And what can be better than crafts in February: pink, lace, hearts, doilies, love, love, love.

I've got 2 layouts done with the February Mercantile Papercrafting and Antiquarian Kits.  Have you seen them? Here's the Papercrafting Kit:

and here's the Antiquarian:

Beautiful, right?

And here are my layouts - they didn't make the gallery last night - oh when will the daylight be longer for photos!

Just look at that adorable image on the February Exclusive Stamp.  I thought the stamp was a great detail to use with this photo of my nieces dancing.  The gold foil hearts in the Antiquarian are just lovely and I used them to focus on the photo, their clasped hands, and the stamp.

And here's the other layout:

I wrapped up two photos of my son and neices together around a giant heart and sealed it with a crepe paper flower.  I used my roll of vintage crepe paper from the Flea Market, but there's also some in this month's Mini Album Kit!

Chippy Doorplates, My December Story, Meeting Jenni, and more

What I've been working on lately:

The December Mercantile Kits are amazing ... no wonder much of it has sold out ... there are still a few kits remaining of the Artisan, Mini Album, and Historian ...

In the Mercantile Flea Market you'll find Chippy Doorplates, one of my most favorite flea market items.  I used it to embellish the front of a notebook which will become my 2014 idea book:

Each Chippy Doorplate has its own personality and they've been restocked.  The new restock is a bit different design than what you see here.  I added a key, and a flea market blinged-out "B".  All glued with Quick Grip which worked GREAT.

The next pages of My December Story are done.  Last week's story was about the "mentors" in our Christmas adventure.  I made a list of those things I've lived with or learned from my mentors that I want to continue this year.  Note Jenni is up front and center.  Have you seen her Christmas decorations and kits?

Using the Mercantile Historian Kit (one left!) I made this very helpful Christmas notebook:

And I brought it with me to the Country Living Holiday Bazaar Saturday and did knock off a couple of gifts from my list.  But the highlight of the day was finally meeting Jenni and Jared Bowlin in person.  I just love this photo of me attacking poor Jenni!  They were just as sweet and kind as I imagined.  And their booth was CROWDED!  I barely got to look myself - I'll have to do my shopping at the Mercantile!

Have a wonderful and creative day!

Snowy November

Well the snow came for one day and didn't stick and now it's warming up for a few before colder temps next week.  So who knows how snowy November will get?  It's New England - 'nuf said.

I'd love to share a favorite layout - I used older photos - I love these photos and loved the day they were taken. Seriously one of my "Best Days Ever"

This was made with the quickly disappearing Mercantile Papercrafting kit and some pieces from the Artisan! I adore the exclusives in the kit! The cutting file?!  I'll be using those feathers over and over.

I wanted a circular element on my page and used the exclusive star stamp to get it.

I punched a 2-3/4 inch circle from cardstock and used that as a mask on my background.  I simply placed the mask where I wanted my star elements and stamped over the mask.  The stamp looks so pretty stamped in gold and embossed.

The bottom photo so reminded me of a favorite passage from Willa Cather's book My Antonia.

"The little boy forgot his shyness and grinned delightedly when familiar faces came into view. In the group about Antonia I was conscious of a kind of physical harmony. They leaned this way and that, and were not afraid to touch each other."

I just love that.

Gorgeous November

New England is on fire right now.

Outside my bedroom window

I don't think I've ever seen such color before.

Equally as gorgeous are the JBS Mercantile kits for November.

November Papercrafting Kit

Project Updates & Scrapbooking 3 ways

I've been having so much fun scrapbooking with both physical and digital supplies and even stuff in between.

The October Mercantile kit was so very pretty and so very easy to create with.  Truly, my layouts came together so quickly and I am usually one.slow.scrapper!

A bit of the October Artisan kit was used on "Magic" and the Autumn mini below.

Then ... I went hybrid with some cute Owl tags for Halloween:

You can see how I made these and how you can make your own at this post on the JBS Inspiration Blog.

And then I rounded off the creative week with a digital layout:

The doilies and ribbon are from a new JBS Digital Kit (JBS-CountyFair) available now and on sale until midnight Sunday PT.

Other supplies:

A bunch of projects ... done 3 ways ... that was fun !

Kit Catch-Up

Love the September Mercantile Kit.  It's got orange ... and lime ... sigh ...

There's a thread on 2Peas about orange.  Do you like it? Is it just for Halloween and fall?  OH NO, I say.

Here are 2 of the layouts I made using only the Papercrafting Kit, in all it's orange and lime glory:

I had so much fun playing with positive and negative pieces from my silhouette cuts.  And the orange .... well it's just beautiful!

Thanks for visiting and have a creative weekend!

Speech Bubbles With Personality

The August Mercantile Papercrafting Kit is happy, bold, and fun.  When I saw some of its colors and embellishments I knew the photos I needed to scrap with this kit.

There's also beautiful turquoise on a couple of the b-sides too.  totally happy!

The exclusives are some of my favorite ever, including the digital cut file:

I used the file with my Cameo to cut bubbles out of various patterned paper. The patterns are so bold and fun I think they are singing on their own - no words needed:

They actually have a bubbly personality, don't they?  Just like my sweet nieces in the photos!

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great day!

WOYYW : 220

If you want to learn more about WOYWW, see the originator and creator extraordinaire Julia right here.

Today I'm showing my workdesk from last week.  I was in paradise:

This vacation was very relaxing.    The boys slept as long as they wanted, we didn't need to watch the clock, and our nights were spent at the beach house relaxing even more.  ahhhh - can I go back?!

But even while in paradise, I knew I wanted to keep my hands crafty.  There was plenty of time for this!

So I took my little pink suitcase packed with the August Mini Album Kit from JBS.  It is sooo easy to scrap on vacation with a kit.  You can see parts of the mini album kit and main papercrafting kit around the table.  I ended up breaking my hole punch, so I had to use this funny looking screwdriver, but other than that, I had everything I needed.

This is the mini - I'll place photos inside from a hike we took at a nearby wildlife refuge.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
