This was an amazing simple and brilliant project. Amy figured out how to make a tablet cover out of a placemat. I made one for my Kindle. If I could do this (I did not inherit our family's sewing genes), then anyone can.
I grabbed this placemat from Home Goods and used the directions from Amy to fold and sew. The trim is some pretty vintage trim I had. The button is a Jenni Bowlin Studio Vintage Sew-On Button with a glittery bauble glued in the middle. The edge of the top fold fits in nicely under the button.
Since my Kindle is fairly small I had some extra room to work with and sewed a pocket for a pen.
There's even room in the main pocket for my cord.
The only problem with this sweet project is that I'm not sure it gets me any Calvinball points. I'm sorely behind! There's a lot of "point getting" going on over on the message board!
Now for the give-away! I have an extra of this stamp to give away:
Jenni is purely genius when it comes to designing product and her new line of clear stamps like this one, is an example! The possibilities are endless!
If you'd like the stamp, leave a message telling how you'd use this stamp if you won it. I'll pick a random winner Sunday night at 10pm ET!
If you are celebrating Easter, I hope you have a wonderful Holy Week!
super cute!! just don't have a kindle!!1:):):)
ReplyDeleteThis is BEAUTIFUL!!! I loveeeeeeeeee it!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful job with your Kindle case!! I think you should get a point for using a JBS item on a craft/sewing project...ha! So, lets see, I would stamp the grocers cover on a light patterned paper, cut in out and tuck it behind a photo and the list stamp would make an awesome journaling spot. Thanks for a chance to win, Yay! :) Evie
ReplyDeleteI would actually use it as a list for my next shopping trip into the city. We live in a small town and a trip to a larger town 35 miles away needs a cute list to keep track of my monthly accumulation of "needs", which is usually related to my paper obsession.
ReplyDeleteLove your tablet cover!!
ReplyDeletecute cover!
ReplyDeleteI would use the stamp in my scrappin
Ooh! I just saw an amazing pin on pinterest about using old books to make tags. They were inked then stamped. Great vintage feel with twine. This stamp would be perfect.
